Refill, Reuse, Repeat: Keep Your Furikake Fresh

Oct 14, 2026 · Clean label furikake · Refill and reuse · Sustainability · Tips

A glass jar of furikake is made to last well beyond the first fill. That’s why both blends are offered in convenient refill pouches filled with the same amount of seasoning. Your glass jar keeps its spot on the table.

How to refill your jar

Make sure the jar is completely dry, as moisture is the enemy of crisp sesame and nori. Snip the corner of the pouch to reveal a second clear cellophane pouch that you can gently snip open and pour carefully into your glass jar. When filled, give the jar a gentle tap to settle the blend. Close the lid tightly and you're ready to go.

How to store furikake

Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, with the lid tightly closed. Avoid storing it right next to the stove, where heat and steam can soften the texture.

How long does it last?

We make our blends for a 6 to 9 month shelf life when stored properly. Check the best by date on your package, and use a dry spoon or shake it straight from the jar to keep it fresh.

Why refills matter

We believe in sustainable options for our planet. Reusing a glass jar means less packaging with every order. It's a small change, but over a year of everyday sprinkling it adds up.
